I spoke to Leah Bancroft after the meeting, asked if she was to be one of Council Staff. She said Robin DouglassÊ was the key person and another ( male I think). I asked when she thoughtÊthe committee wouldÊunder way, she thought they would lose no time.

For all to read the Motion click on toÊSCRC Web site for today's agenda, it comes up under StrategyÊ& Planning Committee - 3.2.7 bottom of page 17 to 1/2 of page 18. Couple this with the comments made by Anna/G on page one of today's Range News, which seems to indicate Witta, The Showground and the precinct will be treated as a group.

Regarding the committee to be formed, these issues need to be addressed with appropriate expertise:

Porters FarmÊis a soil erosion disaster, needs remedial work. ÊBulldozing on Armstrong's, even with small cuts needs care to stockpile top soil, attention to batters, contour banks, retention ponds etc. These are some of the questions to be coveredÊwith the playing fields. Of course where does the money come from for the Golf course and where are the business plans for the projects? Contour earth works will be needed on Porters to stabilise the hillsides and retention ponds to slow down water flow to the wetland areas. These are just some of the land and management problems that have to be dealt with with.
