This website promotes the Obi Obi Parklands concept for the use of some of the land within the Maleny Community Precinct. We agreed to the Maleny Community Precinct Master Plan as published in June 2010.
We seek attractive and accessible recreational spaces, gardens, pathways, walking tracks, cycle ways, re-afforested areas, protected wetlands, scenic outlooks, and public access to a majority of this large tract of public land. This should be accomplished under a model of sound and sustainable management while caring for and restoring our environment.
Tree plantings have already taken place in some of the riparian areas, and regular follow-up maintenance is being undertaken. Wetland and riparian management plans have been developed. Major grant funding has been received from the Federal Government for Maleny District Green Hills Fund to undertake an unbroken riparian restoration corridor along Obi Obi Creek.

An extensive species list has been compiled by experts of birds, mammals and frogs who make the southern wetland area their home. SOUTHERN WETLAND SPECIES LIST
